What the cleaning does

On request we clean your record in our Klaudio ultrasonic machine before it ships and check it by eye. In my experience this pays off with new records too: pressing can leave residues, and a clean groove is kinder to your cartridge.

This means opening the shrink wrap – your record arrives cleaned in your parcel. From €5 per record, depending on the album.

I am aware and agree, that the Record will be put out of the original shrink wrap (this will be included to the delivery).

The Soul Album places Otis Redding inside a repertoire broad enough to show every shade of his vocal character. He can plead, command, tease and confess without losing the directness that makes each performance feel addressed to one listener. The Memphis ensemble around him answers with clipped guitar, firm rhythm, organ and horns that know when a single accent will carry more force than a flourish.

“Just One More Day” begins in supplication, Redding stretching the central request until it becomes both promise and desperation. “Cigarettes and Coffee” works at a lower temperature: its late-night intimacy depends on conversational phrasing, small instrumental responses and the sense that contentment may last only until morning. Sam Cooke’s “Chain Gang” is reshaped through sharper rhythmic pressure and vocal attack, while “Everybody Makes a Mistake” lets empathy enter without softening the groove. On “634-5789,” Redding turns a familiar invitation into a public performance, leaning into the repeated telephone number as horns and rhythm section reinforce the hook. The album’s strength lies in that movement between private and communal feeling. Ballads never become merely gentle, and the faster songs retain emotional stakes. Redding makes interpretation sound like authorship because every breath changes the meaning of the song in front of him.

This edition presents The Soul Album across two LPs at 45 RPM. Four sides give its sequence of ballads, blues-based performances and rhythm-and-blues numbers a substantial collector’s format while preserving the album’s emotional progression. It is an absorbing choice for listeners who value Redding not only as a forceful singer but also as a precise reader of mood and language. Michael 45 stores the records in Germany and sends them from Hilden, allowing customers to avoid a personal US import and the corresponding customs delay.
