Taking an album off the shelf usually means sliding off the outer sleeve, then pulling the record out of its jacket. Dual Pocket simplifies that routine. The jacket stays in its own compartment while you take the record, still in its inner sleeve, from the second pocket. You handle the artwork less often during listening. Afterwards, the record returns to its own place alongside the right album.
Keep your collection visible
The transparent outer sleeve keeps the cover design and lettering visible. Cast polypropylene, or CPP, provides the 4 mil protective film around the jacket. According to the supplier, the film is acid-free and PVC-free. The resealable flap closes the jacket pocket; the second pocket stays open. Use a separate inner sleeve for the record itself rather than putting bare vinyl into the outer pocket.
Suitable for Michael’s gatefold method
For a gatefold that opens, Michael recommends joining two of these DP4R12 sleeves using their adhesive strips. You need two outer sleeves per gatefold jacket, whether it contains one record or two. Count inner sleeves separately, one per record. A pack of 25 therefore provides twelve complete gatefold combinations, with one outer sleeve left over. For a tri-fold, place a Multifunctional Sleeve between two suitable Dual Pocket outer sleeves and join the three components using their adhesive strips. The additional centre component is sold separately.
Choose the right size
The 12″ version is the starting point for ordinary LP jackets. Its nominal dimensions are approximately 320 × 320 mm, subject to manufacturing tolerance. Check the fit of particularly large or thick jackets instead of forcing them into a tight sleeve. The 12.75″ version is intended for those exceptions. No. This pack contains 25 outer sleeves. The record in the rear pocket needs its own inner sleeve.
Does every double album need two outer sleeves?
The jacket construction determines the arrangement. Michael’s opening gatefold method uses two DP4R12 sleeves per jacket; the number of inner sleeves follows the number of records.

Ich hab jahrelang die üblichen PE-Schutzhüllen benutzt, bei denen mich das milchige und oft schlierige Material immer gestört hat. Seit einem gutem Jahr benutze ich nur noch diese VSS-Hüllen – das beste, was man sienen Platten antun kann! Glasklare Sicht auf die Cover, extrem stabil und reißfest, und mit der zweiten Einschub-Tasche für die Platten selber eine geniale Lösung. Die LPs gleiten auch viel leichter ins Regal rein und raus.
